Jean Bang Fisher lives with her husband David and their six children in Cary, North Carolina. Jean graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign with a B.F.A. in Art Education and M.Ed. in Special Education. She taught students with learning and behavioral disorders in the Chicago Public Schools before becoming a full-time mother. Jean homeschooled her children for twelve years. Jean and David have 2 biological children and 4 adopted children, one from Korea and 3 from India. Jean and her family are active members of The Summit Church in Durham, NC.
Jean knows her own tendency to drift away from the Gospel and her inability to change herself when relying on her own strength. She also knows the powerful ministry of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives—assuring, reminding, comforting, and applying the Gospel to our hearts, which transforms us into Christ’s likeness. Her favorite quote comes from Jack Miller who says, “Cheer up! You are far worse than you think you are, and the Gospel is far more powerful than you ever dared imagine!” Jean enjoys teaching, reading, loudly cheering on her children at their sporting events, enjoying a good movie or musical with the family, and pursuing any type of creative activity, when time allows. Her life verse is Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Jean hopes God will graciously use The Easter Tree to grow new affection for God’s Word in individuals and families, bringing glory to Jesus Christ.
