What do astronomers believe the “star of Bethlehem” actually was? What was the significance of each of the Magi’s gifts? These and more questions are answered in today’s video devotional.

Think of the excitement you feel when you receive a birth announcement.
Now imagine the birth announcement is a singing one. Now imagine the song is performed by the best choir on earth. And now imagine the singers are quite literally from out of this world, singing a melody never before heard by human ears. Furthermore, imagine you are poor, among the outcasts of society, and have never before been invited to a party, wedding, or birth celebration. This was the experience of the shepherds on that night in Bethlehem.

Handel’s Messiah is one attempt to capture the music of that night. Listen here and imagine the scene.
This version of Handel: Messiah (The Complete Oratorio) is one of the best available.
